Charles Ambrose, age 85, of Monrovia, IN died Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Plainfield Healthcare in Plainfield, IN. He was born on January 16, 1920 in Indianapolis to Charles Sr. and Rose (Wallace) Ambrose. He lived in Indianapolis for just 7 years and Monrovia for most of his life. He married Bernadine (Schrader) Ambrose on September 2, 1939. Before retiring in 1981, he was a generator operator for Indianapolis Power & Light Company in Martinsville, IN for 25 years. He was a 50 year member and Past Master of Monrovia Masonic Lodge #654, 50 year member and Past Worthy Patron of Monrovia Order of Eastern Star, Charter Member of Monrovia Volunteer Fire Department, Charter Member of Monrovia Lions Club, Grand Marshall of Monrovia Festival in 2000, and he had also served on Monrovia School Advisory Board. While in the Air Force he served in World War II. He was a 1937 Graduate of Monrovia High School. He is survived by his spouse of 66 years, Bernadine (Schrader) Ambrose of Monrovia, 1 son, Don Ambrose of Monrovia, 5 Grandchildren: Lisa Anne, Dean, Chris, Lisa Dawn, and Gina, 12 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great, Great, Grandchildren. Visitation will be 4-8pm, Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN with a Masonic Memorial Service at 7:30pm that same night. Funeral will be at 10am, Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Jack Elliott will officiate the service. Charles will be laid to rest at Stilesville Cemetery in Stilesville, IN. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association - 9135 North Meridian St. Ste B-4 Indianapolis, IN 46209.
