Cecil Earl "Red" Allen, 79, of Camby, IN, died on November 6, 2011. Cecil was born to Charles Allen & Christine (Wilcher) Wheat on February 15, 1932 in Hustonville, KY. Cecil was a Korean Army Veteran. Cecil married Peggy (Laswell) Allen on March 31, 1956. He lived in Indianapolis, IN most of his life and 17 years in his birthplace of Hustonville, KY. He retired from General Motors Truck & Bus Plant in 1988 after 31 years. He was a member of Highland United Methodist Church in Waynesburg, KY and former deacon at Gasburg Baptist Church. Cecil was Past Master of Monrovia Masonic Lodge #654. He enjoyed woodworking and also was a Civil War Enthusiast and avid baseball fan. Cecil is survived by his wife, Peggy (Laswell) Allen of Camby, IN; 5 children, Gregory Allen of Indianapolis, IN, Jeffrey (Sue) Allen of Avon, IN, Michael (Sandy) Allen of Plainfield, IN, Lisa (Eric) Main of GA & David (Jackie) Allen of Noblesville, IN; 21 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, B.C. (Louvenia) Allen, Johnny (Paulette) Allen & Gary (Ann) Allen; 1 sister, Betty Tipton. Cecil is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Allen & Christine (Wilcher) Wheat and 2 brothers, Kenneth & Harold Allen. Calling will be from 4-8pm, Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Jones Family Mortuary and 4-8pm, Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Gary Allen & Don Scilley will officiate the 11am funeral service at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY on Friday, November 11, 2011. Cecil will be laid to rest in Highland Methodist Cemetery in Waynesburg, KY. Memorial Contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, Indianapolis IN Office, 6415 Castleway W.
