Cathy E. Carter, 64, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2020 in Life's Journey of Avon. Cathy was born in Indianapolis, IN on November 15, 1955 to the late James and Mary (Hughes) Dixon. She united in marriage on March 17, 1979 to the late Donald Eugene Carter. Growing up the daughter of a veteran, Cathy moved around as child spending many years in California before moving to Indiana and residing in Greenwood and the West Side and ending up in Mooresville. Cathy was a 1973 graduate of Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, CA. Most recently she worked in accounts receivables for Miller Pipeline and previously for Simon Property Groups for 20 years. Although Cathy enjoyed reading and going to the movies, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Cathy is survived by her daughter, April (John) Whalen of Plainfield; three grandchildren: Brent McCleerey, Jacy Whalen and Jaden Whalen; a great granddaughter, Quinley McCleerey; three brothers: Jim Dixon, Stewart Dixon and John Dixon; and seven nieces and nephews. Cathy is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Family and friends may show their love and support at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 29th at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield for a Graveside service where Cathy will be laid to rest.
