Bryan Frederic Clapp

June 19, 1941 — December 2, 2025

It is with both sadness and joy that we celebrate the life of Bryan Frederic Clapp, who passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on June 19, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, to his parents Frederic and Mary Margaret (Dever) Clapp. Bryan was a cherished husband, father, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of so many.

Bryan graduated from Redford High School in 1959 and embarked on a successful career in sales, dedicating many years to the insurance industry. He retired in 2014, yet his passion for helping others never dimmed, and he continued to share his expertise in insurance for a time thereafter.

An extraordinary spirit, Bryan was not only known for his professional accomplishments but also for his beloved hobbies. He had a poignant talent for singing, and his song "For Eternity" soared to #1 on the charts in Detroit for eight consecutive weeks. An avid dancer, Bryan brought joy and laughter wherever he went, embodying a zest for life that was infectious.

A devoted man of faith, Bryan loved the Lord and exemplified what it meant to be a loving husband and father. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Gloria "Jeanie" Clapp, who stood by his side in their home in Mooresville, Indiana. Bryan is also survived by his daughter, Lisa Rene Jaissle of Frederick, Maryland; stepson Cary Baker (Joanie) of Michigan; and stepdaughters Becky Smith of Mooresville and Cindy Janssen of Indianapolis. He delighted in being a grandfather to three grandchildren-Cameron, Amanda, and Shannon-as well as relishing the roles of great-grandfather to one great granddaughter and one great grandson. He will also be lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews.

Bryan is preceded in death by his parents; his previous wife, Barbara June Clapp; and his sister, Marilyn Newton.

A celebration of Bryan's remarkable life will be held in the near future, bringing together family and friends to honor the legacy he leaves behind. The specific date and time will be announced soon and will take place in Farmington, Michigan where all who knew and loved him can gather to share stories, laugh, and revel in the memories created with this lovely man. Bryan's final resting place will be marked with love, as he will be laid to rest at a burial service at Oakland Hills Cemetery and Memorial Garden in Novi, Michigan.

In this time of sorrow, let us remember Bryan not with tears, but with the joy and laughter he brought into our lives. May his memory continue to inspire us all to love loudly, dance freely, and cherish every moment.
