Bobby Gene Henderson

Bobby Gene Henderson Sr., 72, of Monrovia, passed away Friday, February 18th, 2022. He was born November 17th, 1949 in Indianapolis to his parents, Ovean Billy and Betty Lou (Fehrenbach) Henderson. He married Helen L. (Yarrito) Henderson on April 6th, 1968. Although he lived in Indianapolis for 30 years he spent the rest of his life in Monrovia. Bobby is survived by his loving wife of nearly 54 years, Helen L. (Yarrito) Henderson of Monrovia; his three children: Bobby G. (Tasha) Henderson Jr. of Camby, Timothy R. (Beth) Henderson of Florida, and Regina E. (Kyle) Schaefer; five grandchildren: Bryant Henderson, Devon Henderson, Austin Moore, Mariah Moore, and Olivia Henderson; two step grandchildren: Kyrsten Schaefer and Shelbey Frits; one great grandchild, Ariana Henderson; one brother, Roger Henderson; two sisters: Brenda Haus and Linda Olcese; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bobby is preceded in death by both of his parents; and one brother, Bill Henderson. Bobby was an Inspector for RCA for seven years and then at Allison Transmission for 25 years. Known as "White Rabbit" for karate, he was a black belt with Shotokan Karate Club, where he instructed and competed. Bobby attended St. Anne's Church in Indianapolis with Helen. He was an active member of U.A.W. Local 933. In his younger years, Bobby attended a trade school in Flint, Michigan for motors. He was a jack of all trades, Bobby loved rebuilding engines, doing auto body work, and just working on cars in general. "Shaggy Dog" was Bobby's CB name, which was what he was known by. Family and friends may show their love and support from 4pm - 8pm, Monday, February 21, 2022 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Additional visitation will be held from 10 am - 11 am on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. Pastor David Gibson will officiate the celebration of life service at 11 am on Tuesday following the visitation. Bobby will be laid to rest at Holy Cross and Saint Joseph Cemetery in Indianapolis.
