Billy J Scott

Billy J Scott, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away Friday, October 8th, 2021. He was born April 24th, 1931 in Lexington, Tennessee to his parents, William and Polly (Nichols) Scott, where he lived for 25 years. He married the late Laurel Jean (Hyatt) Scott on October 19th, 1968.

Billy is survived by his four children: Joyce Steele of Indianapolis, Randy (Mickey Sue) Scott of Brownsburg, Darlene Pierle of Indianapolis and Teresa Falvy of Indianapolis; a daughter in law, Lisa Scott of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren. Billy is preceded in death by his wife; both of his parents; daughter, Linda Smith; son, Larry Scott; Granddaughter, Christina Simmons; 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

Billy was a Tool and Die Maker for Trico Tool and Die in Lexington, Tennessee for three years before retiring in 1988. He previously worked for Borden Milk Company in Indianapolis for 11 years.

Billy was an avid Nascar fan. He was a very generous man, the kind that would give the shirt off his back for anyone.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 10am to 1pm, Friday, October 15th, 2021 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Kevin Wilson will officiate the celebration of life service at 1 pm, Friday, October 15th, 2021 in the Funeral Home. Billy will be laid to rest next to his wife, Laurel, in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Waverly.
