Billy J. Gott, 89, of Camby, passed away Wednesday, March 24th, 2021. He was born August 10th, 1931 in Sullivan, Indiana to his parents, Clint C. and Mabel I. (Heady) Gott. He married his first wife, Mary J. (Stuller) Gott on December 17th, 1950. On June 20th, 2009, he married Barbara E. (Sexton) Gott. He was a resident of Camby since 1961. Billy is survived by his loving wife of nearly 12 years, Barbara E. (Sexton) Gott of Camby; three children: Karen (Gary) Taft of Mooresville, Mariena Gott of Indianapolis, and Harold (Patty) Gott of Alabama; eight grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Billy was preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife of 56 years, Mary J. (Stuller) Gott; son, William R. Gott; and two sisters: Donna Townsend and Sue Gott. Billy was a 1959 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School. He was a Supervisor at Maplehurst in Indianapolis for 11 years before retiring in 1999. He previously worked as a Route man for Omar Bakery in Indianapolis for 10 years. Bill was a previous Pastor for North Madison Baptist Church for 20 years. He was a former Pastor of 20 years and member of Five Points Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher and choir director. Bill had officiated for 819 funeral services and multiple weddings. He loved to mushroom hunt since his childhood. Billy was a Golden Glove Boxer in his youth. He enjoyed fishing and loved to serve people. Family and friends may show their love and support from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, March 28th and from 12 (noon) to 1 pm on Monday, March 29th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Pastor Steve Agal will officiate a celebration of life service at 1 pm on Monday, March 29th at the funeral home. Billy will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville. Memorial Contributions may be made in Billy's memory to the Five Points Baptist Youth Group, 5596 E.
