Beverly Bernice Manion, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at her home on January 3, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on March 25, 1938 to her parents Howard and Rose (Speziale) Motsinger, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Beverly was a proud graduate of Manual High School, class of 1956. Beverly married Roscoe Ray Manion on April 9th, 1954. Her radiant spirit and kindness touched the lives of many during her 29 years as a cafeteria worker at Decatur Middle School, where she served children with a warm smile and a comforting meal.
Beverly was a prior member of Thrive Church in Mooresville, where her faith and compassion flourished. A simple woman at heart, she was known for her generosity, independence, and boundless joy. Whether it was through engaging in card games or solving crosswords, and her love of casino gambling, Beverly's enthusiasm for life was contagious. She truly loved her family, often speaking of them with great pride and affection. Beverly loved to host gatherings at home. Her and her husband's home on Southport Road became a sanctuary for friends and loved ones, blessing anyone in need, where they could find help, support, and love. She was always known as the Southport Road Mother.
She is survived by her two children, Randy Manion of Martinsville and Melanie Manion of Camby; three grandchildren, Jeremy Manion (Heather) of Lincoln, Nebraska, Megan Barth (Ryan) of Marana, Arizona, and Morgan Manion (Nate Pacheco) of Indianapolis; and three great-grandchildren, Elliot Smith, Louisa Manion, and Shiloh Barth.
Beverly is preceded in death by both of her parents and her beloved husband, Roscoe Ray Manion.
The celebration of Beverly's remarkable life will be held on January 8, 2026. A public visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville. Friends and family are invited to join in a heartfelt Celebration of Life Service starting at 12:00 PM. Beverly will be laid to rest next to her husband, at West Newton Cemetery during a graveside service.
As we remember Beverly, let us cherish her memory and embody the kindness and warmth that she so generously shared with all. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. In honoring her, we are reminded to open our doors and offer our love to others, just as she did.
