Betsy Bothwell

Betsy Delores (Newkirk) Bothwell, 77, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She was born on September 13, 1940 to Charles Novy Newkirk and Semira Ethel (Payton) Newkirk in Indianapolis. She was a 1957 Ben Davis High School graduate. She married Paul Thomas "Tom" Bothwell on September 5, 1959.

Betsy is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Tom Bothwell of Mooresville; two loving children, Tom (Kathy) Bothwell of Mooresville and Theresa (Mark) Morning in Camby; seven loving grandchildren, Josie Dillon, Thomas Bothwell, Jimi Bothwell, Betsy Ann Mitchell, Joshua Morning, Jacob Morning and Josiah Morning; and eight great-granddaughters. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Betsy was a Corporation Specialist Manager for Bank One and previously an Administrative Secretary for INB, both in Indianapolis. She was a member of Valley Mills Christian Church and Lynhurst Order of Eastern Star #505. She loved spending time with family, taking care of Tom and spoiling the grandchildren. She lived in Mooresville for the past 41 years.

Family and friends may gather for calling hours from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 24th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. There will be an Eastern Star Service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday evening at Jones Family Mortuary. There will also be an additional hour of calling from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Friday, May 25th at Hillview Christian Church, 4180 Indiana 64, Marengo, IN 47140. Pastor Tyler Tolbert will officiate Betsy's celebration of life service at 12 p.m. on Friday, May 25th in Hillview Christian Church, Marengo. Betsy will be laid to rest in Highfill Chapel Cemetery, Taswell.
