With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Alice Elizabeth Golden, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who went with the Lord peacefully on July 29, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on September 4, 1935, in Danese, West Virginia, to her parents Fritz Cooper and Effie (White) Goodwin, Alice was a remarkable woman whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering strength left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her. She married the late Alvin Odean Golden Sr. on August 4, 1954.
For over 25 years, Alice dedicated her life as a material handler at RCA, working diligently and exemplifying what it meant to be hardworking before retiring in 1992. She enjoyed the satisfaction of contributing to her community and was a beacon of resilience for her family, serving as their rock through life's challenges.
Alice had a bond with her 3 Chihuahuas she adored greatly and a passion for crocheting, a hobby that allowed her to express her creativity and share warmth with loved ones through her handmade gifts. A deeply caring individual, she especially cherished the moments spent with her late husband, listening to gospel music as he played in a band. Their love and shared interests created a bond that influenced their family profoundly.
Alice is survived by her four loving children: Jeanne Hale (Melvin), Brenda Mills, Martina Chance (John), and Alvin Golden Jr. She was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren: Mindy Whitley, Chrissy Atkins (Kerry), Shawn Phillips, and Cory Mills (Stephanie), as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Her family was the source of her joy, and she took great pride in each of them.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alvin Sr., her son Douglas Golden, her great-grandchild Dylan Whitley, her son-in-law, Jon Mills, and ten siblings, each leaving behind memories that will be cherished forever.
A private graveside service will be held in her honor at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville, where she will be laid to rest. Prior to the graveside service, family will gather together to show their love and support at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville.
Alice's gentle spirit and enduring love will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Forever cherished, she will remain a guiding light in the lives of her family and friends. In her honor, let us carry forward her legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering love.
