Alice May (Milhouse) Emmert, 104, of Mooresville, passed away Saturday, June 3rd, 2023. She was born April 15th, 1919 in Indianapolis to her parents Arthur and Pearl Milhouse. She was married to the late James Hue Emmert. She was a resident of Indianapolis for most of her life.
Alice is survived by her granddaughter, Deborah (Brian) Campbell of Franklin; and three great grandchildren: Gabrielle "Gabbie" Campbell, Brady Campbell, and Cooper Campbell. Alice is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, James Hue Emmert; and daughter, Patricia (Smilley) Lachmann and her husband, Francis "Bud" Lachmann.
Alice was a 1936 graduate of Decatur Central High School. She later attended Indiana Business College. Alice was a Secretary at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis. She worked directly for the company Founder, Mr. Eli Lilly. Alice was also the Secretary for Hoosier Motor Club in Indianapolis. She was a member of Camby Community Church and previously attended Fairfield Friends Church in Camby. Alice loved basket making, needle point, and fishing. She was known by many as a lively woman, who was outgoing and loved talk to anyone.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 12 pm (noon) to 3 pm on Friday, June 16th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 3 pm following visitation at the funeral home. Alice will be laid to rest at Fairfield Friends Cemetery in Camby.
