Obituary for William Dean "Bill" Fluke

William Dean "Bill" Fluke, 84, of Mooresville since 1967, passed away Friday, February 3rd, 2023. He was born July 30th, 1938 in Martinsville to his parents Carl Burton and Viola Merle (Sawyer) Fluke. He married Martha (Fidler) Fluke on December 17th, 1960.

William is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Martha (Fidler) Fluke of Mooresville; two sons: Kyle Fluke of Franklin and Kris (Jennifer Russell) Fluke of Bargersville; 7 grandchildren: Tiffany Schick, Courtney Summitt, Kelsey Ables, Carl Fluke, Wesley Fluke, Krysta Rittenberry and Karlie Fluke; 8 great grandchildren: Hadley Schick, Rylan Ables, Beck Summitt, Adilyn Ables, Case Summitt, Declan Ables, Amelia Fluke and Liliana Rittenberry.

William is preceded in death by both of his parents; one daughter, Karla Whitaker-Pearson; great grandson, Luca Summitt; 3 brothers: Russell, Jimmy, and Ronald Fluke and 6 sisters: Harriet Edwards, LouAnn Royal, Sally Williams, Sue Kennedy, Kay Reading and Laura Fluke.

William was a 1957 graduate of Eminence High School where he played Varsity Basketball. He was a Mechinist at Praxair in Speedway for 29 years before retiring in 2000. William was also a Driver for Acetylene Products in Indianapolis for 10 years. He loved gardening and cutting his grass. He was a hard working man, loving husband, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and was a friend to all.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 5-8pm, Wednesday, February 8th and 10-11am, Thursday, February 9th at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Mark Wright will officiate the celebration of life service at 11am on Thursday following the visitation at the Funeral Home. William will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
