Obituary for William M. Atwood

William M. Atwood, 61, of Camby, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2014. William was born to Clifton and Pearl (Mason) Atwood on January 28, 1953 in Indianapolis. William graduated from Mooresville High School in 1972 and received an Associates Degree from Ivy Tech. William was an Army Veteran during the Vietnam War.

William was a self-employed Carpenter for 25 years. He was previously a Welder for Farnsworth Steel in Indianapolis for 15 years. He was a member of the International Association of Bridge Structural and Ornamental Iron Workers Local 529. He has lived in Morgan County most of his life.

William is survived by his three children, Jaime (Jason) Butcher of Nashville, Debra (Ryan) Dawson of Camby and William "Marty" (Jessica) Atwood of Camby; seven grandchildren, Matt, Devon, Katlyn, Cassidey, Madison, Rhiannon and October; one great grandson, Mason Atwood; three brothers, Mark, Tim and Greg Atwood; three sisters, Alice Jones, Barb Cullen and Debra Ferguson. William is preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Pearl Atwood and two brothers, Gary and Jeff Atwood.

Family and friends may attend calling hours from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, July 24, 2014 and 10-11 a.m., Friday, July 25, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Michael Boling will officiate the 11 a.m. celebration of life service on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary. William will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
