Obituary for Wanda Lou Taylor (Bandy)

Wanda Lou (Bandy) Taylor, 89, at 5:50 a.m. on Monday, December 16th, 2019, our sweet, gentle, spirited, super-smart momma took her last breath with all four of her children holding hands around her. We lifted our prayers giving thanks for such a wonderful gift to be her children and have her as a role model. She passed in peace, comfort and in the early light of a new day. She was born October 15th, 1930 in Indianapolis to her parents, Roy W. "Sam" and Mabel P. (Query) Bandy. She married John W. Taylor on November 10, 1949. She was a resident of Indianapolis for most of her life.

Wanda is survived by her four loving children, Constance (L. Scott) Blank of Indianapolis, John Timothy (Linda) Taylor of Hartsville, Nicole (Michael) Lunsford of Yorktown, and Melissa (Wesley) Tucker of New Mexico; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, John W. Taylor; and one great grandson, Patrick Quade.

Wanda was a 1949 graduate of Ben Davis High School. She was an Executive Secretary at Golden Rule Insurance in Indianapolis for 10 years and retired in 1993. Wanda, a woman of strong faith, was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, an active member of the choir and an avid shopper for Heaven's Cupboard Food Mission. She loved playing golf in the Eagle Creek Nine Hole Swingers.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 5-8 pm on Friday, December 20th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Additional visitation will be held 10-11 am on Saturday, December 21st at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, 1449 S. High School Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46241. Chris Roberts will officiate the celebration of life service at 11 am following the visitation at the church. She will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.

Memorial contributions may be made in Wanda's memory either to Mt. Olive United Methodist Church or Heaven's Cupboard Mission, at 1449 S. High School Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46241.
