Obituary for Walter Wayne White

Walter Wayne White, 87, of Worthington, passed away Friday, December 23rd, 2022. He was born March 26th, 1935 in Jamestown, Indiana to his parents George Howard and Juanita (Cassity) White. He married Verlan (Brock) White on June 4th, 1955. Wayne grew up in Mars Hill and resided there for most of his life until he moved to Bargersville. He most recently was a resident of Worthington for the last 23 years.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of nearly 68 years, Verlan (Brock) White of Worthington; his three children: Sherrie (Allen) Dykes of Martinsville, Clifford (Kim) White of West Lafayette, and Vicky (Dave) Lee of Bargersville; five grandchildren: Taylor Maxwell, Corey White, Christopher White, Jennifer Nawara, and Whitney Gibbs-Lee; and seven great grandchildren: Piper Maxwell, Aiden Maxwell, Gabe White, Alex White, Bell Nawara, Christian White, and Calvin White. Wayne is preceded in death by both of his parents; one brother, Richard "Dick" White; and one sister, Betty Martin.

Wayne was a Brake Mechanic for Beard's Brake in Indianapolis for 40 years. His favorite thing to do was watch country western shows and movies as well as WWE wrestling. Wayne enjoyed working on cars, gardening and anything he could do with Verlan. Wayne was known by many as a soft spoken, kind hearted, family man.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, December 29th at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville where Wayne will be laid to rest. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville.
