Obituary for Virginia Aileen Wodock (Haggard)

Virginia "Gini" Aileen Haggard Wodock of Avon, IN passed away peacefully on the afternoon of July 28 at the age of 69. She was born in Rushville, IN to Naomi and Eli Haggard in 1952. Known to her friends and family as Gini, she spent her life giving everything she had to making the world a better place for the people around her.

Gini attended the Methodist School of Radiologic Technology after high school, where she graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1970. She eventually established a career in International Freight Forwarding and started her own business that she was very proud of, I.F.S. of Indiana. She finished her career in the same industry, and carried many of her very loyal customers with her throughout the years. Gini was a hard worker and dedicated to her career, but spending time with loved ones was her passion. Gini loved traveling, reading, boating, going to the beach, and enjoying good music and wine with friends and family. Anyone who met Gini was touched by her generosity and warmth. She was always the first person to offer help and a kind word. Her circle of friends only grew over the years which is a testament to the person that she was. She was often the center of the family and dedicated her life to caring for her mother at the end of hers. Gini's selflessness was never more evident than during those final years when caring for her mother.

Gini is survived by her daughter Lori (husband Blair) and son Christopher. She was always very proud of her children and probably her greatest pride and joy was her granddaughter Anna. Gini is also survived by her sister Cindy and three brothers David, Frank, and John and half-sister Ruth. She is preceded in death by both of her parents and two sisters Patty and Peggy.

"Christopher and I would like to invite Mom's friends and family to our "Celebration" of Mom/ Gigi/ Gini on Saturday, September 11th from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Hawthorns Country Club, 12255 Club Point Drive in Fishers, Indiana. The event is casual and hor d'oeuvres and cocktails will be served. We look forward to seeing everyone there."

Memorial contributions may be made in Gini's memory to American Cancer Society, 5635 W 96th St Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278
