Obituary for Virginia F. "Ginnie" Thacker (Martin)
Virginia F. "Ginnie" (Martin) Thacker, 69, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 17th, 2019 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis with her loving family by her side. She was born November 27, 1949 in Madison, Tennessee to Jesse and Emma (Brown) Martin. She married Kenneth "Mike" Thacker on June 21, 1970.
Ginnie was survived by her loving husband of nearly 49 years, Mike Thacker of Mooresville; one loving daughter Tara (Aaron) Wilson of Mooresville; two grandchildren: Allyson and Cooper Wilson; one sister: Brenda Owens of Whiteland. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Bonnye Kinman.
Ginnie was a 1968 graduate of Southport High School and later attended college for business. She worked as the Associate Vice President Administrative Assistant for Eli Lilly & Co. for 35 years and retired in 2004. She loved making things for friends with her embroidery and Cricut machine. She enjoyed vacations and spending time partying with friends and family. She hosted many pool parties and loved margaritas and mexican food. She was known to her grandchildren as "Mimi" and they were her world.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 20th and 9-10 a.m. on Friday, June 21st at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Reverend Gene Deverick will officiate the celebration of life service for Ginnie at 10 a.m. on Friday June 21st at the funeral home.
