Victor "Vic" Schooler, 92, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, May 16th, 2020. He was born May 30th, 1927 in Valley Creek, Tennessee to his parents, John and Jane (Beeler) Schooler. He was a resident of Indianapolis for most of his life. He was married to Nancy (Estep) Schooler.
Vic is survived four children: Vickie Cole of Indianapolis, June (Jim) Rather of Montana, David Bryant of Indianapolis, and Jackie (Jeff) Endsley of Florida; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and a special companion, Zelda Snyder of Indianapolis. Vic is preceded in death by both of his parents; his first wife, Nancy (Long) Schooler; his second wife, Nancy (Estep) Schooler; and 11 siblings.
Vic was in the Army during World War II. He later joined the Indianapolis Police Department where he was a Police Sergeant for 22 years and retired in 1979. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Indianapolis. Vic enjoyed flying airplanes. He also loved riding motorcyles. Vic was on the IPD Motorcycle Drill Team. He was on the bomb squad and was assigned to the Internal Affairs for some of his time.
Due to the current unprecedented guidelines limiting public gatherings, there will be a private visitation followed by a private service at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. There will be a private graveside service at Nebo Memorial Park in Martinsville where Vic will be laid to rest. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
