Obituary for Vicky Mattingly (Murray)
Vicky (Murray) Mattingly, 65, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2020. Vicky was born in Colorado Springs, CO on June 6, 1954 to the late William "Bill" Murray and Dorothy (Jones) Simshauser. Vicky married the late Bernie F. Mattingly on October 15, 1976.
Vicky lived most of her life in Mooresville graduating from Mooresville High School in 1972. She was a proud homemaker and also enjoyed working for the Department of Natural Resources. She enjoyed gambling, especially trying her luck at the slots. As a result of her unselfishness, Vicky spent most of her time worrying about everyone else, especially her grandkids.
Vicky is survived by her two children: Michelle (David) Newton of Whitestown and Billy (Desiree) Mattingly of Monrovia; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and a brother, Randy Murray.
Vicky is preceded in death by her parents: William "Bill" Murray and Dorothy (Jones) Simshauser; husband, Bernie F. Mattingly; and two brothers: Rick and David Murray.
Due to the current unprecedented guidelines limiting public gatherings there will be a private visitation followed by a private celebration of life at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Vicky will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery next to her husband, Bernie.
