Obituary for Thomas R. Wert

Thomas R. Wert, 76, Monrovia, died on August 2, 2012 in Eagle Valley Meadows in Indianapolis. He was born on January 6, 1936 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Albert Wert and Ruth (Crouch) Morris. He married the late Sonja K. (Harding) Wert on November 5, 1955.

Thomas lived many years in Indianapolis and 39 years in Monrovia. He was a Meat Cutter at Kroger Grocery in Indianapolis, IN for 38 years before retiring in 1995. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Thomas was a member of the Mooresville American Legion Post 103, Mooresville VFW Post 1111, Plainfield Fraternal Order of Eagles and Monrovia Christian Church.

Thomas is survived by 3 sons: Daniel (Tammy) Wert of Tyler, TX, Gary (Michelle) Wert of Monrovia and Thomas (Amber) Wert of AL; 4 grandchildren: Robyn Bentley and Darrel, Kayla and Robert Wert; 2 great grandchildren: Scott and Tegan and sister, Delores Underwood. Thomas is also preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother, David Wert.

Friends may call from 4-8pm, Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville and 9-10am, Wednesday, August 8, 2012. Steve Ranson will officiate the 10am Funeral on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 also at Jones Family Mortuary. Thomas will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall, Indiana.
