Obituary for Thomas J. Russell

Thomas J. "Tom" Russell, 75, of Mooresville, went to be with the lord on, March 8th, 2022. He was born February 17th, 1947 in Evansville to his parents, Avery G. and Mary Jane (Gilmour) Russell. He married Norma Jean (Foster) Russell on May 6th, 2000. Tom lived in Evansville for 19 years before residing in Mooresville for the rest of his life.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of nearly 22 years, Norma Jean (Foster) Russell of Mooresville; his four children: Jonathan Avery (Dawn) Russell of Brooklyn, Cheryl Renee (Tom) Workman, Bob Minnick of Poland, IN, and Debra Minnick (Kevin) Loy; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; his sister, Barbara Jean Russell Drake; his brother, Ronald Avery Russell; and several nieces and nephews. Tom is preceded in death by both of his parents; one son, Ralph Dean Minnick; one daughter, Karen Minnick Moore; one sister, Carolyn Sue Russell Moerer and one granddaughter, Millissa Moore.

Tom served in the United States Army and received his G.E.D. shortly after. He attended trade school for steamfitters before working for Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 440 and HVAC union. Tom was known as a jack of all trades. He was a former member of Moose Lodge #500 and Mooresville Fraternal Order of Eagles. Tom was known to enjoy dancing, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4pm - 8pm, Friday, March 11, 2022 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Additional visitation will be held from 10 am - 11 am on Saturday, March 12, 2022. Pastor Jack Heaston will officiate the celebration of life service at 11 am on Saturday following the visitation. Tom will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
