Obituary for Thelma J. Troke (Renner)

Thelma J. (Renner) Troke, 90, of Bloomington, passed away Sunday, February 26th, 2023. She was born April 25th, 1932 in Indianapolis to her parents John Emory and Sarah (Krewson) Renner. She married the late Paul Troke on October 21st, 1950. She was a resident of Indianapolis for most of her life and a resident of Mooresville since 2016.

Thelma is survived by her two sons: Butch (Wanda) Troke of Akron and Tom Troke of Oxford, Ohio; one daughter, Teresa J. Troke of Bloomington; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, David M. Renner; and two sisters: Shirley J. Dodd and Rose Anita Renner. Thelma is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Paul Troke; one son, Daniel Troke; two brothers: Larry Renner and John Renner; and one sister, Opal Fox.

Thelma was a 1950 graduate of Mooresville High School. She was a Bookkeeper for I.P.W. in Indianapolis for 25 years before retiring. Thelma was a very faithful attendee of Charity Church in Indianapolis and a devoted Christian. She loved to write, especially poetry. Thelma was known as a loving and caring woman.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 10 am to 12 pm (noon) on Thursday, March 2nd at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Pastor David Gibson will officiate a celebration of life service at 12 pm (noon) following visitation at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Slagle will officiate a graveside service where Thelma will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
