Obituary for Thelma Jean Gipson
Thelma "Jean" Gipson, 50, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Nov. 18, 2014. Thelma "Jean" was born to L. C. Couch and Anna (Gipson) Sams on Oct. 15, 1964 in Hyden, KY.
Jean was a 1982 George Washington High School Graduate. She was a Homemaker. She enjoyed NASCAR Auto Racing. She has lived in Indianapolis for most of her life.
Jean is survived by her mother, Anna (Gipson) Sams of Indianapolis; two sisters, Ella Keller and Edith Gipson Byrd, both of Indianapolis; a brother, Bill Gipson of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Jean is preceded in death by her father, L. C. Couch.
Family and friends may gather from 2-6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014 and 11 a.m. - 12 Noon, Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastors Augastine Tena and Tony Cannon will officiate the 12 Noon celebration of life service on Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary. Jean will be laid to rest in West Ridge Park.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Thelma "Jean" Family Fund with checks being made to Edith Gipson Byrd, 8919 Caminito Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46234 or gofundme.com/hhzisw.
