Obituary for Steven Joseph Underwood

Steven Joseph Underwood, 52, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, December 15th, 2022. He was born February 23rd, 1970 in Greenwood to his parents Homer Edmond and Kay Sharon (Coomes) Underwood.

Steven is survived by his fiancé, Jenevieve Rodriguez of Indianapolis; three children: Hali (Danny) Hardin of Monrovia, Shelbi Underwood of Mooresville, and Devin Underwood of Indianapolis; two grandchildren: Eloise and Colson Hardin; three sisters: Polly (Chick) White of Mooresville, Patsy Newlin Baurer of Bargersville, and Peggy Newlin of Florida; and two brothers: David Underwood of Mooresville and Scott (Irene) Underwood of Paragon. Steven is preceded in death by both of his parents; one brother, Danny Underwood; and two sisters: Paula Underwood and Penny Newlin.

Steven was a Ramp Agent for FedEx in Indianapolis for 8 years. He also worked as a Carpenter for AC&I Corp/Carpenter Union in Monrovia for 18 years. Steven loved to build things and work construction. He loved listening to music. When hearing a song he loved, "killer song, dude", would be his expression of choice. Steven was a real genuine man with a big heart. Known by many as "Steve-O the Metal Man, wearing sunglasses, jorts, his colts cap and white Nike shoes. Steven had many sayings. "Bad to the Bone" and "We are all Just Dust in the Wind, Dude", to name a few.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville.
