Obituary for Shirley Ann (Leis) McKeand
Shirley Ann (Leis) McKeand, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at the Franciscan Hospice House on June 22, 2022, with family by her side. She was born on June 5, 1929 in Monon, IN to the late Edward and Ardath (Jones) Leis. She married the love of her life, Harold D. McKeand, on May 7, 1948.
Shirley was a 1947 graduate of Ben Davis High School. She was a proud homemaker, avid reader, enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 74 years; three sons: Mark (Kathy) McKeand of Florida, Mike (Sheryl) McKeand of Greenwood and Jeff (Judy) McKeand of Indianapolis; four grandchildren: Justin and Tyler McKeand, Michelle Miley and Amanda McKeand; four great grandchildren: Taylor Saunders, Averie Brzezinski, Lucas and Charlotte McKeand.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Donald Leis.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 11 am to 2 pm, Monday, June 27, 2022 at Jones Family Mortuary, 4165 East Allison Rd. Mooresville, IN 46158. The Celebration of Life Service will follow the visitation at 2 pm. in the Funeral Home. Shirley will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery.
