Obituary for Ronald "Buff" Scala

Ronald P. "Carrado" Scala, known to family and friends as "Buff", 91, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 13th, 2021 with his daughters by his side. He was born May 15th, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York to his parents, Antonio and Anna (Mauriello) Scala, where he lived for 41 years. He married Frances (Stettler) Scala on April 13th, 1957. He was a resident of Indianapolis since 1970.

Ronald is survived by his 3 daughters: Anna (Dan) Scala-Byers of Indianapolis, Stephanie (Tony) DeFur of Mooresville and Christine (Nickki) Scala of Lebanon; four grandchildren: Charina DeFur, Anthony DeFur, Courtney Kays and Tad Berry; and six great grandchildren. Ronald is preceded in death by both of his parents and his wife, Frances (Stettler) Scala.

Ronald worked at the Indianapolis International Airport for many years. He was quite a character to those who knew him and a proud New Yorker. Ronald was a huge Yankees fan, a very gifted bowler, loved watching the horse races, enjoyed Italian food, was an avid music fan and loved to talk. Ronald loved his wife Frances very much.

A private visitation will be held at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A private graveside service will be held. Ronald will be laid to rest next to his wife, Frances at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
