Obituary for Rodney James Clark

Rodney James Clark, 69, of Camby, passed away Wednesday, December 16th, 2020. He was born July 9th, 1951 in Hershey, Pennsylvania to his parents, Robert Floyd and Lois Aljean (Sortwell) Clark. He married Vicky J. (Pike) Clark in September of 1973. He lived most of his life in Indianapolis.

Rodney is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Vicky J. (Pike) Clark of Camby; one daughter, Michelle (Mike) Gulley of Camby; one son, James (Jessica Reynolds) Clark of Columbus; 12 grandchildren: Keith (Megan), Michael (Cheyanne), Lizabeth, Brooke (Chadwick), Brandon, Justin, Ethan, Dalton, and Kylee; 4 great grandchildren: Cayden, Isabella, Cameron, and Liam; and one brother, Robert (Lerryn) Clark Jr. of Indianapolis. Rodney is preceded in death by both of his parents and one great granddaughter, Lillian Grace Long.

Rodney was a 1969 graduate of Northwest High School. He later joined the US Army. He was a customer service representative for Wood-Mizer in Indianapolis for 34 years before retiring in 2016. He was a great asset for the customers at Wood-Mizer and was very knowledgeable in his role. Rodney was a family man who loved baking with his grandkids, enjoyed slot machines, traveling to Vegas, and was a coin collector. He was the most loyal Hoosier Lottery player. He loved checking the serial numbers on money to view their worth. He was a comical person and always loved to make everyone laugh.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 10:30-11:30 am on Tuesday, December 22nd at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:30 am following visitation at the funeral home. Rodney will be laid to rest at West Ridge Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
