Obituary for Robert C. "Bob" Yarnell

Robert C. "Bob" Yarnell, 77, of Camby, passed away Tuesday, January 4th, 2022. He was born February 17th, 1944 in Indianapolis to his parents, Otis M. and Wanda N. (Gardner) Yarnell. He married Cheryl (Kemerly) Yarnell on February 26th, 1988. He was a resident of Camby since 1977.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of nearly 34 years, Cheryl (Kemerly) Yarnell of Camby; one son, Brad Yarnell of Camby; one granddaughter, Sydney Yarnell of Camby; and one sister, Joyce (Tom) Stuart of Camby. Bob is preceded in death by both of his parents.

Bob was a 1962 graduate of Ben Davis High School. He worked for B&O Railroad for six years as a Fireman, then at the age of 24, he became a Deputy of Marion County Sheriffs Department. After 31 years of dedication he retired as Detective Sgt. in 1997. After retirement he worked for Eagle Pines Golf Course in Mooresville for 10 years. He always said with the free golf he figured his hourly rate was $75.00 an hour. Bob was a member and usher of Grace Church in Mooresville for 22 years. He also was a member of Indianapolis Fraternal Order of Police. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the center of his world, his granddaughter Sydney. He enjoyed his coffee any time of the day and loved playing golf and fishing.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, January 7th and from 10 to 11 am on Saturday, January 8th at Grace Church, 4172 E. Allison Road, Camby IN 46113. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 8th following visitation at the church. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville.
