Obituary for Robert F. Shouse

Robert F. "Bob" Shouse, 95, of Martinsville, passed away Sunday, January 17th, 2021. He was born July 6th, 1925 in Coal City, Indiana to his parents, Otto C. and Ruth M. (Stantz) Shouse where he lived for 18 years. He married Mary L. (Simpson) Shouse on March 12th, 1949. He was a past resident of Indianapolis for 22 years before residing in Martinsville for the past 45 years.

Bob is survived by his four children: Randall (Leta) Shouse of Indianapolis, Roger (Debbie) Shouse of Corydon, James (Cathy) Shouse of Fairmont and Cassandra (Paul) Schneider of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Bob is preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Mary L. (Simpson) Shouse; and one brother, Harold Shouse.

Bob was a 1943 graduate of Coal City High School and was the Captain of the basketball team his Senior year. He later on received his Bachelor's Degree from Purdue University, graduating in 1954. Bob was a WWII Marine Corps Vet and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a Mechanical Engineer for Allison Gas Turbine Division for 31 years before retiring in 1986. Bob was a member of Mooresville Church of Christ where he had served as a Deacon and a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Fraternity. He enjoyed reading, golfing, mushroom hunting, and big band music. He loved spending time with family and he knew everyone at Poe's Cafeteria.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 7pm on Thursday, January 21st and from 10 to 11 am on Friday, January 22nd at Jones Crossing Banquet Center, 4161 East Allison Road Mooresville, IN 46158. Randall and Roger Shouse will officiate a celebration of life service that will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 22nd at Jones Crossing. Graveside services will be at 3pm, at Beech Cemetery, where Bob will be laid to rest. Address for Cemetery as follows: 1525 Co. Rd. 1500 W, Coal City, Indiana 47427.
