Obituary for Robert N. Rainbolt

Robert N. Rainbolt, 90 years of age passed away Friday, May 1, 2009 in his home. He was born August 3, 1918 in Corydon, IN to the late Maurice and Etna (Byerly) Rainbolt. He married the late Jennie W. Rainbolt on October 23, 1948.

Robert lived in Camby, IN for 48 years; Corydon, IN for 28 years; Louisville, KY for 3 years; Chicago, IL for 2 years; and in Indianapolis, IN for 8 years. He was a 1939 graduate of Corydon High School and also went to Coyn Electrical School in Chicago for 1 year. Robert was a Navy veteran from World War II and was a member of the Fairfield Friends Church in Camby,IN. He was a lifetime member of the Mooresville VFW Post 1111 and a Lifetime member of the American Legion Post 276 in Beech Grove. He loved woodworking and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. He was an electrician for Citizens Gas in Indianapolis, IN for 25 years and he also worked as an electrician in Chicago for 2 years before retiring in 1975.

Robert is survived by 1 Brother, Ed Rainbolt of Corydon, IN; 3 Sisters: Margie Holst of FL, Beatrice Dean of Scottsburg, IN, and Wilma Rainbolt of Louisville, KY; 4 Nieces; 6 Nephews; and Special Friends, John and Kathy deJong.

Calling hours for Robert will be from 2-5pm, Sunday, May 3, 2009 and from 9-10am, Monday, May 4, 2009 at Jones Family Mortuary. The funeral will be at 10am, Monday, May 4, 2009 at Jones Family Mortuary. Jones Family handled the arrangements. Philip Gulley will offiiciate the service and Robert will be laid to rest at Fairfield Cemetery in Camby, IN. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Fairfield Friends Church.
