Obituary

Obituary for Robert A. Mosier

Robert A. "Rob" "Mo" Mosier, 59, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 29, 2020 after a courageous battle. Rob was born in Indianapolis on January 26, 1961 to the late Rex and Joanne (Ford) Mosier. Rob married Tina M. (Lyles) Mosier on December 15, 1984.

Rob was a 1979 graduate of George Washington High School; attended Eternal Life Tabernacle in Indianapolis; was a member of Local Union #7-706; loved fishing; was an avid hunter and great outdoorsman; and loved being in nature and in the woods. Rob was very strong willed, had a huge heart, was a man of honor and integrity, and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Rob was a very hard worker his entire life. He worked two jobs in high school for J&M Janitorial: cleaning Teamsters Union Hall and Lee Door and Sash Window Company. Following graduation he was employed at Stokely Van Kamp for ten years. In 1990, he started working at National Starch and Chemical/Ingredion and worked there for thirty years. He was also a member of the their safety committee, a union steward, and a member of the bargaining committee for 30 years.

Rob is survived by his wife, Tina; two daughters: Amanda (Gene Bonfer) Mosier of Indianapolis and Jennifer (James) Lochard of Indianapolis; nieces and nephews he raised, Cristi (Mike) Wood, Jeff Mosier and Deborah Mosier; ten grandchildren: Brayden Lochard, Jordan Lochard, Landon Robert Lochard, Ruby (Jo) Lochard, Kloee Wood, CJ Wood, Auggie Wood, Dallas Mosier, Taylor Mosier and Obee Juan.

Rob is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Ronnie, Jeff and Rich Mosier; sisters: Joyce Ann Mosier and Debbie White; and a nephew, George White.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4-8 p.m on Monday, February 3, 2020 and Tuesday, 12-1 pm, February 4, 2020 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Mark Pingleton will officiate the celebration of life service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in the Funeral Home.

Generous, kind, and a Man's Man. Rob would help anyone. He had such a big heart, and felt guilty, when a lost & confused neighborhood kid was struck by a car, while walking home drunk. Rob felt responsible for not offering him a ride(he had unselfishly driven him home many times.) I know of one such occasion, when Mo tried to help one of his little brothers old school 47 friends get a job, & he put his own reputation on the line for a kid-he didn't even know! --That's the Mo I know!
