Obituary for Raymond Edward "Bill" Booty
Raymond Edward "Bill" Booty, 89, of Martinsville, passed away Saturday, December 10th, 2022. He was born October 31st, 1933 in Amo, Indiana to his parents Leonard and Velda Irene (McIntyre) Booty. He was a resident of Martinsville for most of his life.
Bill is survived by his nephew, Roger (Sandy) Pleake of Florida; one great niece, Crystal Sherline of Tennessee; and his domestic spouse, Elena Dix of Camby. Bill is preceded in death by both of his parents; one daughter, Pamela Irene Booty; and one sister, Lois Alberta Boldoc.
Bill was a graduate of Martinsville High School. He later joined the United States Army. Bill worked for the Allison Division of General Motors in Indianapolis for 40 years before retiring in 1987. He was a well liked and very respected man. Bill was known for being a wonderful father, husband, and son. He was an avid collector. Bill enjoyed rabbit hunting and spending quality time with family and friends.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 11 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday, December 17th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 12:30 pm following visitation at the funeral home. Bill will be laid to rest at St. Martin of Tours Cemetery in Martinsville.
