Obituary for Peter B Yaw

Peter B Yaw, 82, of Monrovia, passed away Monday, May 25th, 2020. He was born July 31st, 1937 in Cincinnati, Ohio to his parents, Owen and Margaret (Hack) Yaw. He married Marlene M. (Bura) Yaw on February 3rd, 1962. He lived in Logan, Ohio during his childhood and spent most of his life in Indianapolis, He was a resident of Monrovia since 2003.

Peter is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marlene M. (Bura) Yaw of Monrovia; two daughters: Rebecca Coffey of Fishers and Dr. Michelle Yaw (William) Johnson of Columbus, Ohio; two granddaughters: Johanna Johnson and Colleen Johnson; two brothers: John Yaw and David Yaw; and one sister, Nancy Sutton Yaw. Peter is preceded in death by both of his parents.

Peter was a Lieutenant Colonel for the Army as a Surgeon. Peter served in Vietnam and was activated to Desert Storm. He was the recipient of two Bronze Stars. He was also a Thoracic Surgeon for the VA Medical Center in Indianapolis.

Private service arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Peter will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.
