Obituary for Pearl O. McClellan

Pearl O. McClellan, 93, of Mooresville, went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2014. Pearl was born to Sherman and Fannie (Starling) Shafer on June 14, 1920 in Odon. Pearl was a 1937 Odon High School graduate. Pearl married Lee E. McClellan on February 29, 1940.

Pearl was an Underwriter for American States Insurance in Indianapolis for several years. She was a member of Life Line Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening. She has lived in Camby for 7 years and Indianapolis for 60 years.

Pearl is survived by her husband of 74 years, Lee E. McClellan of Mooresville; a daughter, Carol Carroll of Camby; a son, Melvin (Marilyn) McClellan of Plainfield; three grandchildren, Brett Carroll, Laura & Shelby McClellan and two great grandchildren, Wesley and Aaron. Pearl is preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Fannie Shafer; two grandchildren, Lonnie & Wayne Carroll; three sisters, Berniece Lee, Norma Gruber and Leone Pearson; and three brothers, Hershel, Vernon & Carl Shafer.

Family and friends may attend calling hours from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville and from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Life Line Baptist Church, 13387 N. Slideoff Road, Camby. Pastor Tim Lindsey II will officiate the 10 a.m. celebration of life service on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Life Line Baptist Church. Pearl will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery.
