Obituary for Paul S. Johnson

Paul S. Johnson, 87, of Reelsville, passed away Friday, December 24th, 2021. He was born July 22nd, 1934 in Marrowbone, Kentucky to his parents, Carvel and Ivy (Blankenship) Johnson, where he spent his early childhood. Paul married Jean (Padgett) Johnson on June 25th, 1955. Although Paul was a resident of Indianapolis for most of his life, he was a resident of Reelsville since 2016.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jean (Padgett) Johnson of Reelsville; three children: Karen Crawford of Reelsville, Cindy Johnson of Reelsville, and Derek (Chris) Johnson of Mooresville; four grandchildren: Jimmy Harrison, Michael Crawford, Nicole Crawford, and Michelle Shaw; nine great grandchildren; two brothers: Harley Johnson and Carson Johnson; and one sister, Harriett Phelps. Paul is preceded in death by both of his parents; one son, Dwayne Johnson; one daughter, Debbie Johnson; son in law, Randy Johnson; three brothers: John, Frank, and Carlos Johnson; and one sister: Martha Johnson.

Paul was a 1976 graduate of Washington High School. He later joined the United States Navy, discharging in 1958. Paul was a Factory Worker for Witco, currently known as Chemtura for several years before retiring in 1991. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Paul enjoyed wood working and was known as a hands on man, he could figure out how to do anything.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 10 am to 1 pm on Friday, December 31st at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm following visitation at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville.
