Obituary for Norma Jean Crandall (Hamilton)

Norma Jean (Hamilton) Crandall, 83, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 8th, 2020 with family by her side. She was born December 11th, 1936 in Maysville, Kentucky to her parents, Jay Hamilton and Mildred (Hollar) Armstrong. She married Earl "Wayne" Crandall on May 8th, 1980 . She was a resident of New Castle for 20 years and has lived in Mooresville since 2000.

Norma is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, Earl "Wayne" Crandall of Mooresville; three loving children, Robert D. Magee of Indianapolis, Kathleen D. (Greg) Charley of Indianapolis, and Jeffrey A. Magee of Mooresville; three step children, Rocky Crandall of Louisiana, Leslie Crandall of Tennessee, and Nicki Crandall of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Sandra Burris; and one brother, David Hamilton. Norma is preceded in death by both of her parents; two brothers, Junior and Dan Hamilton; and one sister, Shirley.

Norma was a 1954 graduate of Carthage High School. Her first job was an Assembly Line Worker for Western Electric where she worked for two years. She then worked as a Collection Agent for Beneficial Finance in Knightstown for several years and also as a Collection Agent for Tandy Corp in Fort Worth, Texas. Norma enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She also had a love for going antiquing.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, January 12th and from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, January 13th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 13th at the funeral home. Norma will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
