Obituary for Mildred L Card (Wall)

Mildred L (Wall) Card, 94, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 28th, 2021, reuniting with her husband and to be with the Lord.. She was born September 10th, 1926 in Brooklyn, Indiana to her parents, Chauncey and Jewell (Warner) Wall. She married the late Robert E. Card on May 4th, 1946. Mildred was a lifetime resident of Decatur Township.

Mildred is survived by one son, William R. "Bill" (Georgia) Card of Indianapolis; two grandchildren: Scott (Kim) Card of Indianapolis and Chris (Mandy) Card of Indianapolis; seven great grandchildren: Kayla, Haley, Scotty, Breanna, Abigail, William, and Kendalee Card. Mildred is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Robert E. Card; three sisters: Virginia, Geraldine and an infant; and one brother, Raymond "Bus" Wall.

Mildred was a 1944 graduate of Decatur Central High School. She worked in the Insulin Filling and Research Department for Eli Lilly and Company from 1960-1983. She previously worked for Link Belt, and helped her late husband Robert on the farm. Mildred loved Gospel music. She loved going to concerts of The Booth Brothers, The Gaithers, and Greater Vision. She and her husband Bob were huge Indiana Pacer fans, and enjoyed going to men's Softball tournaments. Mildred was a member of The Red Hat Society. She loved spending time together with her family.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 5 to 8 on Monday, February 1st and from 11 am to 12 pm (noon) on Tuesday, February 2nd at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 12 pm (noon) on Tuesday, February 2nd at the funeral home. Mildred will be laid to rest next to her husband Robert at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
