Obituary for Mary Jo (Bodenhamer) Patrick

Mary Jo (Bodenhamer) Patrick passed away peacefully early Saturday morning January 12 at age 88. She was born to the late Elvin and Edith (Ringer) Bodenhamer on January 10, 1925.

A lifelong resident of Monrovia, Mary Jo graduated from Monrovia High School in 1942. On May 28 of that same year she married Fredrick A. Patrick who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are: son, Wallace Eugene (Gene) Greeson; son-in-law, Rev. David W. Patrick; and grandson, Brian D. Shuler. Survivors include: son, Mike (Judy) Patrick; daughter, Shelly (Mike) Shuler; daughter, Marcy Patrick and daughter-in-law, Ann Cox. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Kelly Young, Amy Osborne, Jeff Greeson, Chris Shuler, Markus Shuler, Mary Bell and Rebekah Patrick and 10 great grandchildren: Megan, Jacob and Jordan Young, Brooke, Kourtney and Delaney Osborne, Braily Greeson and Brianna, Spenser and Mason Shuler.

She worked for the Monroe - Gregg Schools for 22 years retiring in 1989. She was also a member of the Monrovia United Methodist Church, Monrovia Alumni Association and Eastern Star.

Calling will be Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 4 to 8 pm at Jones Family Mortuary with the funeral service at Monrovia United Methodist Church on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 11 am with Rev. Eric Kersey and Rev. Marcy Patrick officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to Monrovia United Methodist Church or Monrovia Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.
