Obituary for Luella Sue Gentry

Luella "Sue" Gentry, 76, of Indianapolis went home to be with her Father in Heaven on March 27, 2015. She was born to Earle Steinmetz and Catherine (Carrico) Thomas on September 5, 1938 in Indianapolis. She graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1956. She married Maurice Lee Gentry on June 13, 1964.

Sue was a homemaker and self-employed hairdresser. She was a member of Christ Church in Plainfield. She loved being with her family, and many friends. She has lived in Indianapolis all of her life.

Sue is survived by her husband of 50 years, Maurice Gentry of Indianapolis; three children, Steven Franke of Camby, Linda (Don) McKinley of Mooresville, Todd (Lisa) Gentry of North Carolina; six grandchildren, Stephanie Franke and Stephen Franke of Indianapolis, Tanner McKinley and Tori McKinley of Mooresville, Chris Gentry of South Carolina, Kimberly (Michael) Maddox of North Carolina; a great-granddaughter, Lily Maddox of North Carolina; a sister, Phyllis Tranbarger of Coatsville; stepfather, Paul Thomas of Indianapolis, and several nieces and nephews. Sue is preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Earle and Louise Steinmetz; mother, Catherine (Carrico) Thomas, and a sister, Marjorie Rasmussen.

Family and friends may gather from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 and from noon-1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Jones Family Mortuary, 4165 East Allison Road, Mooresville, IN 46158. Pastor Morris Mott will officiate the celebration of life service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville . Sue will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery, Indianapolis.
