Obituary for Loretta Wilson (Martin)

Loretta "Lolo" (Martin) Wilson, 69, of West Newton, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 6th, 2021. She was born July 4th, 1952 in Indianapolis, to her parents William and Margaret (Glen) Martin. She married James Albert Wilson on June 10th, 1968. She spent her childhood in Greenwood but was a resident of West Newton for most of her life.

Loretta is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, James Albert Wilson of West Newton; two sons: Richard Wilson of Camby and James (Lisa) Wilson of Clinton, Iowa; several grandchildren; one sister, Betty Allender of Camby; and one brother, Tim (Ann) Martin of Morgantown, Kentucky. Loretta is preceded in death by both of her parents.

Loretta was a Machine Operator for Allison Payment Systems for 18 years before retiring in 2013. She previously worked for Western Electric for 10 years before they shut down. Loretta was a member of West Newton Worship and Youth Center, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for 26 years. People often described Loretta as friendly, motherly and nice. Loretta enjoyed fishing, crocheting and reading. She loved spending time and playing with her grandchildren.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, September 9th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Pastor Tony Cannon will officiate a celebration of life service that will be held at 2pm at West Newton Worship and Youth Center in West Newton with a visitation from 10 am to 2 pm prior to services. Loretta will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
