Obituary for Linda M Brinkman (Johnson)

Linda Marie Brinkman, 75 years old, peacefully entered Life Eternal with family next to her on Monday, November 2, 2020 at her nursing home from complications related to Alzheimer’s disease. Linda was born in Indianapolis January 11, 1945 to the late Elbert Jay and Evelyn S. (Altorfer) Johnson.

She was united in marriage in October 1964 with the love of her life, the late Robert Lee Brinkman, and they remained devoted to one another for over 54 years. She leaves her three sons: Keith Robert of Texas, Jay Michael (Laura) of Martinsville and Mark Donald (Lisa) of Greenwood; grandchildren: Dustin Lee, Evan Markus, Jeremy Michael, and Jaylie Elizabeth; younger sister, Barbara Frye of Ft. Myers, Florida; brother Donald Johnson of Indianapolis. Linda is preceded by her parents and grandson, Austin E. Brinkman.

Linda successfully raised her three sons in the same home on the West side of Indianapolis. After the youngest son finished high school, she went back to college to become a registered nurse. She passionately worked in Indianapolis in home care, adult care and hospice care for hundreds of patients and their family members. For a season, she also served as a Christian pastor for a home church. She gave herself in love and service to God, her family and many others. Linda enjoyed family vacations camping both in Indiana and elsewhere in the country, having family holidays in her home, and baking Christmas cookies and sharing with others.

Family and friends may show their love and support during a memorial gathering from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Jones Family Mortuary, 4165 East Allison Rd. Mooresville, IN 46158. Pastor Chris Page will officiate the Celebration of Life Memorial Service following the gathering at 7:30 pm in the funeral home. Linda’s wishes to be cremated are being respectfully honored. The memorial service will be broadcasted on Facebook Live as the family recognizes not everyone would be able to attend.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Linda's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
