Obituary for Larry James Davis

Larry James Davis, 78, of Monrovia, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2023. Larry was born in Ipswich England on May 27, 1945 to the late Jim and Sylvia (Palmer) Davis.

Larry came to the United States in 1946 and entered Wood High School where he graduated in 1964. Being drafted into the military in 1965, Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam before being discharged in 1967. Being a hard working man, Larry started working for General Motors where he worked for 32 years before retiring in 2000.

Larry valued his time spent with his family going to sporting events, Dietz Lake, family holidays and cookouts. Larry had a special talent when it came to decorating for the holidays. He also enjoyed riding in Teresa's Mustang with the top down. He didn't know a stranger and would do anything for anybody. He was known as the greatest father, grandfather and husband by many.

Larry is survived by his four children: Angel Coss (Brian "Tonto") of Mooresville, Larry Scott Davis (Bille) of Plainfield, Amy Jo Smith (Denny) of Plainfield, and Greg Davis (Jennifer) of Monrovia; eight grandchildren: Allee Jones, L.J. Adams, Trey Davis, Sterling Smith, Kadyn Davis, Kyra Davis, Durray Smith, and Caden Romine; seven great grandchildren: Braxton, Brooklyn, Bailey and Boston Jones, Kayden, Maisynn and Bishop Adams; brother, Pat Davis and sister, Nancy Mutz. Larry reunited with Judy Meador after the passing of his wife, Teresa.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Teresa Faye (Britt) Davis of 50 years; granddaughter, Aireka Adams; and sister, Ann Davis.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4-8 pm, Monday, July 10, 2023 at Jones Crossing Banquet and Event Center, 4165 East Allison Rd. Mooresville, IN 46158, next to Jones Family Mortuary, with additional visitation from 9-10 am, Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the Banquet Center. Pastor Jack Elliott will officiate the celebration of life service at 10 am, Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the Banquet Center with Military Funeral Honors to follow at the cemetery. Larry will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall next to his wife, Teresa.
