Obituary for Kattie Sue Tucker

Kattie Sue Tucker, 71, of Monrovia, IN, died on March 24, 2012. Kattie was born to Robert W. & Ethel Juanita (Tuck) Rushton on September 19, 1940 in Indianapolis, IN. In 1958, Kattie graduated from Monrovia High School and received her Cosmetology License. Kattie Sue Tucker married Dan Tucker on April 11, 1958.

Kattie worked first as a Clerk, then a Mail Carrier and finally a Post Master for the Monrovia Post Office for 31 years, retiring in 1992. Kattie was a member of Monrovia Christian Church. Kattie had a passion for working in her community, where she has lived all of her life, on all sorts of projects and memberships, including Monrovia High School Alumni Association & helping start the Monrovia Festival. Kattie will also be remembered by her famous peanut butter fudge.

Kattie is survived by 5 children, Danita (Tim) Ringer of Mooresville, IN, Philip (Laura) Tucker of Monrovia, IN, John (Jina) Tucker of Mooresville, IN, Cynthia (Joe) Cunningham of Monrovia, IN & Tom Tucker of Monrovia, IN; 12 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Patricia Allen of Greenfield, IN & 1 brother, Robert E. Rushton of MI & several nieces & nephews. Kattie is preceded in death by her parents, Robert W. & Ethel Juanita (Tuck) Rushton; husband, Dan Tucker and a sister, Roberta Miller.

Calling for Kattie will be from 3-8pm, Tuesday, March 27, 2012 and 10-11am, Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary. Richard Dickison will officiate the 11am funeral service on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary. Kattie will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, IN.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Monrovia High School Alumni Association, American Cancer Society or to an organization where Kattie had inspired you.
