Obituary for Kathy Elaine (Crawford) Sylvia
Kathy Elaine (Crawford) Sylvia, 63, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 2, 2021 in Meadow Lakes of Mooresville. She was born on March 3, 2021 in Greenville, Michigan to the late Wilby Duane and Joyce Elaine (Taylor) Crawford.
Kathy was a 1976 graduate of Decatur Central High School. She worked for the Host Marriott at the Indianapolis Airport as a server for over 20 years. She attended Impact Center @ Mount Pleasant Christian Church in Greenwood and was often accompanied by her daughter, Amy and her family.
Her grandchildren were her greatest joy. She loved spending time with them when they were younger, going to the zoo, museums, watching movies, etc. She was a talented seamstress; she loved watching crime shows like Law & Order and listening to country music. She was known for her generous gestures, big hearted ways, her passionate and fiery personality and her silliness.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Amy Elaine (Todd) Merrill of Mooresville, four grandchildren: Allison Powell, Caleb Powell, Kadin Merrill and Danika Merrill; two brothers: Kenny and Ray Crawford both of Indianapolis and two sisters: Diane Wilson and Charlotte Crawford both of Indianapolis. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents; son, Jimmy Allen Sylvia II and long time boyfriend, Robert Jay.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 10 am to 12 noon on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. The celebration of life service will be at 12 noon on Wednesday following the visitation in the Funeral Home. Kathy will be laid to rest next to her son, Jimmy in West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
