Kathleen V. Wood, 91 years of age passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010. She was born November 29, 1918 in Crown Center, IN to the late Daniel and Mary (Whilite) Pleake. She married the late Frederick Wood on July 28, 1936.

She lived in Stilesville, IN for 25 years; Indianapolis, IN for 20 years; Martinsville, IN for 10 years; and in Crown Center, IN for 18 years. Kathleen was a Homemaker and loved to sew and crochet.

She is survived by 5 Grandchildren: Robert (Alisa) Wood of Bloomington, IN, Deryl (Jessica) Wood Jr. of Spencer, IN, Nick (Julie) Wood of Indianapolis, IN, Christina (John) Daniels of Plainfield, IN, and Cathy (Jerry) Strait of Stilesville, IN; 9 Great Grandchildren; 3 Sisters: Loriane Oxley of Huntington, IN, Maxine English of Greencastle, IN, and Lucille Myers of Huntington, IN; and 1 Brother, Daniel Pleake Jr. of FL. She is also preceded in death by Parents, Daniel and Mary Pleake; Husband, Frederick Wood; 2 Sons, Charles and Deryl Wood Sr.; 1 Grandson, William Wood; 1 Sister, Helen Miller; and 3 Brothers: Richard, Jewell and Lowell Pleake.

Calling hours for Kathleen will be from 4-8pm, Friday, September 10, 2010 and from 9-10am, Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. The funeral service will be at 10am, Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Jones Family Mortuary with Homer Henderson to officiate. Kathleen will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, IN.
