Obituary for Katherine M. Shirley (Spellman)
Katherine M. (Spellman) Shirley, 72, of Rincon, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 8th, 2021. She was born March 11th, 1949 in Indianapolis, to her parents, Donald G. and Mona T. (McCallister) Spellman. She married the late Bennie W. Shirley on January 10th, 1970. She was a previous resident of Martinsville for 34 years and resided in Mooresville since 2017.
Katherine is survived by her five children: Kelly Davis of Georgia, Sharon Shirley of Mooresville, Karen Rogers of Mooresville, Brenda Ballenger of Kentucky, and Selby Shirley of Kentucky; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and three brothers: Carl Spellman, Kenneth Spellman, and Scott Spellman. Katherine is preceded in death by both of her parents; and her husband, Bennie W. Shirley.
Katherine was a 1967 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School. She was a homemaker, who loved reading and enjoyed crafts.
Family and friends may show their love and support at a graveside service at 11 am on Monday, December 13th at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton. Katherine will be laid to rest next to her husband, Bennie W. Shirley.
