Obituary for Karen Marie Bauer (Marshall)

Karen Marie (Marshall) Bauer, 68, of Martinsville, passed away Tuesday, August 13th, 2019 with her loving family by her side. She was born November 27, 1950 in Indianapolis to William and Thelma Marshall. She married Robert E. Bauer Jr. on May 23, 1970. She resided in Morgan County for most of her life.

Karen is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert E. Bauer Jr. of Martinsville; three loving children; Robert (Melissa) Bauer III of Monrovia, Susan (Bradley) James of Paragon, and Angela (George) Carter; five grandchildren, Melinda Bauer of Mooresville, Melody Bauer of Wilbur, Melina (Aaron) Harwell of Arizona, Robert Bauer IV of Monrovia, and Joseph Carter of Mooresville; six great grandchildren, Charlie, Maddie, Max, Jax, Clay and Robbie; three brothers, Wayne Russell, William Billy Marshall, and Wendell Mike Marshall; and two sisters, Sherry Marshall and Tammy Montogmery. Karen is preceded in death by both her parents; a brother, Larry Scotter; and a sister, Debra Marshall.

Karen was a 1969 graduate of Monrovia High school. She worked as a control officer in dispatch with the Morgan County Sherriff's Department for over 10 years. She also worked at Walmart as a Cashier/ CSM in Martinsville for 12 years. Her grandchildren were everything to her. She enjoyed watching airplanes. She loved talking to everyone on her phone, where she would find out how they were.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, August 16th and from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, August 17th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Reverend Keenan Steinway will officiate a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 17th at Jones Family Mortuary.
