Obituary for Joseph Ray "Joe" Snyder

Joseph Ray "Joe" Snyder, 65, of Martinsville, Indiana passed away peacefully in St. Francis of Mooresville Hospital. Joe was born in Indianapolis on October 29, 1956 to the late William and Elizabeth Ann (Brickley) Snyder Sr. He married the love of his life, "Sis" (Spears) Snyder on September 14, 1985.

Joe was a 1974 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School. He was a Fence Installer / Foreman since he was 17 years old for Capital City Fence (John Roop) retiring in 2018. Joe also drove a limo for 9 years for Indy Class Act. He enjoyed playing and coaching sports and had the pleasure of coaching his 2 daughters, Belinda and Julie. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, especially Elk Hunting in Colorado and Walleye fishing. He was a very Godly man and gave his life to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was very active in his church as he played the drums for over 15 years and through his years of playing he had the unique opportunity to play with John Cougar Mellencamp. He adored and loved his family dearly.

Joe is survived by his wife, "Sis" (Spears) Snyder of Martinsville; 4 children: Belinda (Paul) Shillings of Martinsville, Julie (Chris) Shepherd of Martinsville, Joseph Snyder Jr. of Indianapolis and Traci (James) Worley of Martinsville; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: William Snyder Sr. and Edward Laur; 4 sisters: Joyce Garza, Sharon Wolfenburger, Nellie Snyder and Janet Baker.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Gregory Snyder; and sister, Cecilia Snyder.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 2-3 pm, Saturday, January 8, 2022 at West Newton Worship and Youth Center with services following at 3 pm at the church. The Snyder family would like to invite everyone to stay and fellowship following the service during a dinner provided by the church. Arrangements entrusted and handled by Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville.
