John L. Wagner, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, April 26th, 2021. He was born October 9th, 1936 in Osgood, Indiana to his parents, Merle and Leah (Stoneking) Wagner. He married Nell (Yarbro) Wagner on May 18th, 1957. John grew up and spent most of his life in Indianapolis.
John is survived by his loving wife of nearly 64 years, Nell (Yarbro) Wagner of Indianapolis; three daughters: Veronica (Charlie) Smith of Indianapolis, Sheri (Jeff) Beasley of Indianapolis, and Stephanie Wagner of Indianapolis; six grandchildren: Kim, Wesley, Hillary, Brittany, Blake, and Kelsi; and 11 great grandchildren. John is preceded in death by both of his parents and by one sister, Joan Wagner.
John was a 1954 graduate of George Washington High School. He later on joined the United States Navy serving from 1954 to 1957. John was an Air Traffic Controller for F.A.A. at Indianapolis Air Traffic Control Center. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge. John collected antique cars and enjoyed traveling with his wife Nell. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
A private visitation and service will be held for the family at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. John will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
