Obituary for John Thomas (Tom) Delashmit

John Thomas "Tom" Delashmit, 80, Camby, IN, died on Thursday, June 14, 2012. He was born on September 24, 1931 in Danville, IL to the late Samuel and Lucille (Smith) Delashmit. He married Betty Jane (Rybolt) Delashmit on December 24, 1950.

John lived most of his life in Camby, IN and previously 2 years in Danville, IL. He was a 1950 graduate of Plainfield High School. John was a carpenter for 30 years for Carpenter's Union Local #60 before retiring in 1997. He was a member of Chapel Rock Christian Church in Indianapolis. He enjoyed traveling, camping, square dancing and working on puzzles.

John is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Delashmit; 3 children: Andy (Sharon) Delashmit of CA, Alan (Ilene) Delashmit of NY and Sandy (Hilary) Michel of TN; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sister, Diane Neff of North Salem, IN and a previous daughter in law, Jeanine Delashmit of Indianapolis. He is also preceded by his parents, Samuel and Lucille (Smith) Delashmit; 1 sister, Lois and 1 brother, Bill.

Friends may call from 4-8pm, Monday, June 18, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary and also 9-10am, Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Funeral services will be at 10am, Tuesday, June 19, 2012 also at Jones Family Mortuary. Fred Rodkey will be officiating. John will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in North Salem, IN.
